Spacious and comfortable bedroom with a view to die for for. Secure parking. Elegant restaurant but too expensive when one is eating out every night. However there was an excellent restarant with a much more reasonable price structure 3 minute walk away
The hotelier was initially a trifle querulous. We wondered if we had met Madame Falty. However she mellowed.. It was awkward having to make special arrangements to check in before 5pm.
Spacious well furnished room with good view of the River Seine.
This hotel has a wonderful location on the edge of the Seine river. On the riverside is it quiet and the restaurant which faces that way has an enviable position overlooking it.
Rooms overlooking the church are fairly noisy with road traffic and no warning was given by the hotel about the holding of a evening street market under our bedroom window - something which happens twice a month in July and August. The lunch time Menu was the same as for the previoius evening's Dinner, which we thought for a hotel of this standing was surprisingly disappointing.
Great location on river
Staff rude, restaurant closed recommended restaurant worst in France.Lack of care.
The position of the hotel
The cost of the evening meal, expensive for what it was.
Beautiful situation on river. Lovely building and fab dining room. food average and overpriced. Head waiter served us with dirty suit on him. Very unprofessional. Unwelcoming staff. Iwas very dissapoointed with our stay. Bed very uncomfortable in standard bedroom on to church.
hated avocado bathroom, and no proper shower. had to hold shower unit over bath to wash. unacceptable. wont return.
The Maitre d', Cedric, was very helpful when we arrived and later helped with some questions we had around the etiquette of French Weddings, as we were going to a Wedding the following day and were not sure about some aspects. The service and food in the restaurant were excellent, again Cedric and the younger waiter were very attentive and Cedric explained some of the food on the menu as we had a little difficulty with translation. The experience of the restaurant was complimented by the peaceful view of the river Seine. In the morning we walked up to the castle which had been the stronghold of Richard Coeur de Lion, spectacular views over the town. All in all a very enjoyable stay which we would have no hesitation in recommending to others. Infact many people at the Wedding asked where we had stayed and asked about the restaurant, so we were able to give a very favourable report.
The position of the hotel is superb, right by the River Seine and convenient for our visit to Giverny (Monet's Garden).
Reception spoilt by the awkward attitude of the female proprietor. Her husband was very helpful. Dinner very late so had to fetch a sandwich from the car as hunger was overtaking us.
Beautiful location, right on the river, and a short walk from Chateau Gaillard. Lovely restaurant - the set dinner menus are good, not cheap but very nicely prepared and served. Most of the staff speak some English too. And Les Andelys is a good base for exploring the surrounding area - just a short drive in one direction to Rouen, or in another to Monet's garden at Giverny.
The restaurant's a la carte dishes are a bit pricey, as is the wine list. This might be an issue for someone staying for several days - although there are plenty of other eating places in town.
Interesting little town with wonderful walks along the River Seine. Beautiful hotel with good car parking. Food and wine were very good, though overpriced. However the view from the restaurant across the river made it worthwhile.
While there was a shower attachment the lack of a screen made it difficult to use without liberally covering the bathroom in water.
The location is perfect. It is very charming, just by the river, with views of the Castle also. Spacious room and very large bed
The bathroom was a bit cold, but fine
The riverside location and views. Quiet. Restaurant was attractive and the food delicious. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Nice to have no additional fee, secure parking. Large bathroom. Interesting nearby attractions, especially Giverny.
We were disappointed that their WIFI is incompatible with iPad. This was the only hotel we stayed at in France with incompatible WIFI. This is a suggestion to improve the hotel, not a complaint. The town has little of interest or to offer.
The hotel was in a fabulous position on the banks of the Seine, with a secure car park. The views from our room overlooking the river were splendid. Also the dining room was very attractive, with orchids on the tables and a lovely view of the river.
The decor in our room was very tired, with dated furnishings, and stained carpet. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable!. Breakfast was a real disappointment with very limited choice and was very overpriced. We didn't have evening meals at the hotel as the prices were far too high!
The room was very nice and a good value
The restarant was horribly expensive ( we felt captive as nothing near by was open ) we paid 36 euro for one small piece of fish ...32 euro for one piece of veal...no vegetables.. Nothing else.. Wine was also very expensive 38 for bottle...The hotel is fine but do not eat ! This is not Paris..so why the big prices ?? It was not very good food.
Quiet luxury hotel with outstanding location
Although we had prebooked the restaurant for 8 30 pm and had received confirmation we felt unwelcome and rushed throughout the meal. As a gourmet menu we were not given the choice of two of the menu items and I am writing to the hotel to request recompense. It is a shame that such a good hotel has staff in the restaurant who do not appreciate their customers. We were told by one member of staff that although there was a cheese chariot we were not entitled to it on the gourmet menu ! : in fact it had been cleared at 945pm and we were given three mourceaux on a plate.
